Description
Looks like Medusa and Pegasus decided to inbreed again
The background is actually midnight blue and the horse is actually pale cream. She has very pale marbled hair. See the detail shot: [link]
She is painted in the same negative monochrome way as [link].
I really don’t know how to explain it, it’s like a negative watercolor technique combined with the mentality of how you would draw with white charcoal on black. So the horse itself is truly monochrome in that I used literally one shade of cream but would use different opacities of it. Kind of like with watercolors, if you want a lighter shade of something you add water to it. Except in reverse….hence the negative. But unlike with watercolors, I’m dry brushing with very thin paint(oxymoron? Yes). I do all this to get the semi transparent phantom feel(so that’s why you can see the blue in her)
It's much easier to see it than to explain it (le Speed painting video) [link]

16x20 canvas board, acrylic paint, apx 5 hours
Critique is welcome
btw if you know how to marble in isolation, I would loooove to hear it. I need to refine my technique pretty bad, those edges are terrible
Definitely expect to see more inbred phantom horses
I'm thinking of making them into a calendar...
If you like my inbred phantoms(I think these horses need a better name ) , don’t be afraid to
